Sometimes bloggers and journalists seem very similar to each other. Other times, it seems they couldn’t be more different. They have much to learn from each other. Let’s explore some of the ways in which you can be a better blogger by applying some of the tips and techniques journalists use in their writing.

    Very interesting, Michael – I love the points you make about ‘objectivity’ – I entirely agree some bloggers need to be more careful about checking their facts but, as you say, complete objectivity’s unobtainable – and maybe not that desirable anyway. It’s the individual perspective that often makes a piece appealing – even if you disagree with the writer’s point of view. There’s nothing more entertaining than a good old rant.

      Your comment just made me realize/remember that in journalism they are careful to separate the “news” from the “editorial,” but with blogging you often see those two blended together.
