After my recent 5 Profitable Business Blogging Predictions for 2012 post, life coach Tim Brownson wondered in the comments if others like him had “streamlined” their social media. In other words, did they shut down or ignore social network accounts in favor of only a few “big ones” they either liked more or profited more from using. I thought about how I had closed my LinkedIn account and how many social networking accounts I have that sit unused.
It could be a coincidence or it could be a trend. One way to find out is to conduct a poll and see what you say, and that’s exactly what I’m doing here.
The more people who take the poll, the better the results, so please share this post and encourage people to participate!

Good poll questions to arrive at a good evaluation!
Hi Michael
I have streamlined my social media – albeit unintentionally.
My primary channels are Twitter and LinkedIn – and I rarely use my secondary and tertiary channels.
One challenge, though, is that most of us do not do a thorough RoI analysis of what is working vs. what is not. Some social media channels get overlooked just because we don’t invest the time in them.
In my case, StumbleUpon and Google+ will fall in that category – and I am seriously considering carving out chunks of time to explore/investigate/experiment with these in 2012.
Worse – so other channels get overlooked altogether. YouTube for example – or SlideShare.
As regards Facebook, I’ve kind of almost left it

Without you providing any information? Nope.
There are hundreds of excellent information sources out there on how to market with social media. You should check some of them out, like Social Media Examiner or Chris Brogan.
