Link Journeys for April 23, 2011, the “Back to Basics” Edition

Let’s see what Uncle Mikey has in his grab bag of links from this past week of surfing the intarwebz:

Links

Books

These are affiliate links. One of these damn years, Amazon WILL. SEND. ME. SOME. MONEY. You could call it a long-term goal in life.

  • Enchantment – This book I expected to be awesome and, well, I guess I’m gonna be the one guy who’s not so very enchanted with this. How to shake hands with people? Really? But mostly it’s got tons of super-practical “how to” in it and it’s useful for that.
  • The Thank You Economy – This book I expected to not like very much because Gary has proven that a one-person empire really does only scale so far and he passed that point a while ago (try to call him or email him if you don’t believe me). However, this is a far superior book to Crush It! Gary does a great job of really showing how business has come full circle back to the small town bazaar or farmer’s market in some ways. Highly recommended.
