The Cobbler’s Children Have No Shoes
That’s an old saying to describe how we’re so busy helping others that we often go without that which we should have in order to serve as good examples.
Who would trust a shoemaker who’s kids had no shoes?
Now apply this to your online business.
If you fail to give yourself permission and time to create blog posts, your traffic goes down and so does your lead generation. In technical business terms, this is what we call “bad.”
If you fail to take your own damn advice, you come off as a hypocrite, and nobody trusts hypocrites with their money. Also bad (see, the second time I use technical jargon, I remove the quotes).
Be sure to watch the video for the complete story. Would to hear your reaction to this in the comments!

OMG, MM. Best T-shirt ever AND you said “parity.” You are a geek after my own heart. I'm taking my own advice right now, thanks to you.
Heh, thanks! Threadless.com for the win.
I love the shirt too it's sweet, and I agree with your comments practice what you preach. It is good to get advice from various pro's in your field, on the other hand we all have our own brains and need to figure out what works for our particular situation and go from there. Cool video.
” …we all have our own brains and need to figure out what works for our
particular situation and go from there” <– Truer words were never spoken.
OMG you're talking to my soul!
Yay, I get to have one of those “you're doing it right” days. Thanks.
