A project I’ve been involved with is launching today. Announcing Start Blogging Today. Below is a video overview:
Think about something you wished you had known earlier. There are common mistakes we often make when starting a blog and I know for myself that if I had a chance to start over, I’d do things differently. Time and again people have expressed to me what they wished they had know earlier! Things like:
- SEO & keywords
- Choosing the right kind of blog software
- How to engage and grow subscribers
- How to figure out what to blog about
- How to really use social media
- How to create an online business platform out of a blog and other social tools
And that’s just a sample.
When you’re a bit new to blogging, you find out the hard way that much of the web’s articles on blogging to teach beginners are too general and short to be useful. And if you’re going to go into that territory, you may as well go all the way. But much on the web is geared towards advanced users or is just plain wrong or worth little. I can write about blogging but that’s not the same as a training program.
Most training programs I’ve seen for blogging are slapped-together nonsense (not the ones I’ve recommended here, thank goodness). But now there is one to help you safely and quickly get going, called Start Blogging Today (not an affiliate link).
Start Blogging Today is the brainchild of myself and Grant Griffiths, whom I also work with on the Headway premium WordPress theme. We saw a need for a blog training program that was for anybody—especially beginners. Start Blogging Today is about as easy as it gets. I won’t get into all the details here when you can check out the site and see all about it.
There is also a nice big discount available for a limited time.
I invite you to come check it out and see if it’s something you’re interested in:

I've had a preview of the course for a while now and it looks awesome. It is very complementary to other courses (such as my own) as it focuses on blogging for your business, not as your business. So there is definitely a gap for those who want to learn how a blog and social media can enhance and even drive their business.
That distinction is an important one!
This is interesting. I think that even those with years of experience in blogging would still find something useful in this project.
Anyone who “masters” anything will always tell you it comes down to
mastering the fundamentals, and blogging is no different.
I never realized when I started blogging that there would be so much to learn. I love to write, but it's not fun if I'm only writing it for myself because I'm buried on the last page of the search engine results. All this SEO stuff is hurting my brain! I want to do this right, so I'm not wasting my time, so I think it's time to learn the details before I go any further.
If you learn basics first and practice applying what you learn, SEO is not
as much of a bugaboo as people often think.
That’s really an interesting project. It seems like a simple idea at first, but it is not. It is just elegant for both creators of this project and participants!
Very good Post. I Like it, because is very interesting.
Let's start blogging and share anything there …
