Scribe SEO Review – You Want This, Oh Yes You Do

Scribe SEO (affiliate link) is a combination WordPress plugin and Web-based service that kicks all kinds of SEO ass. Really I could not be more pleased with it. Brian Clark asked me via Twitter if I was using it and I told him I wished I had it years ago.

You see, even if you know a fair bit about SEO, you’re still shooting in the dark when you publish a blog post because you just don’t know for sure how it’s going to perform in SERPs (search engine results pages). And any work you could do to narrow down that guess takes time and takes tools which take you away from writing your post. With Scribe SEO, it’s all built in to WordPress. And that to me is indescribably beautiful. :)

To show you Scribe SEO in action, I recorded this screencast of me optimizing an actual blog post I will publish next week:

If you can’t see the video, head over to Remarkablogger to watch it there.

Despite my glowing praise of Scribe SEO, is there a downside? Yes, there is. You will hit the wall of your headline writing skills trying to get primary keywords to be first in your headline while still appealing to people. And the Scribe service may show that nobody appears to be searching for the keywords you’re targeting. I address this in the video. Because Scribe is checking your content against the rest of the internet, you’re dealing with averages and lowest common denominators when it comes to keywords. If your niche is a bit bizarre, you may find yourself constantly ignoring certain data in Scribe and you’ll constantly feel like your score isn’t high enough for each post.

Despite that, I still think the tool is worth having. I gladly pay for it (I have no special deals, or anything, although I am an affiliate. If you buy through my link I’ll be compensated).

AS OF THIS POSTING YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME TO GET THE INTRODUCTORY PRICING. THE INTRODUCTORY OFFER ENDS AT 7 PM EASTERN TIME TODAY (FEB 26), SO HURRY YOUR BUTT OVER THERE.

So sorry for the short notice and the capslock, but it’s been a busy day for me and I was just now able to put this post together. I don’t want you to miss out on this!

UPDATE: The time to get the advanced account for the price of a basic account has now passed. Sorry if you missed it. You can still get up to 30 SEO analyses per month for the basic option, though, which is great if you don’t post a lot or are only interested in some of your posts being highly optimized.

P.S. – I used Scribe on this very post and got a 100% score. Within hours, this post appeared in the 2nd page of Google SERPs, and I expect it to continue to climb as the days pass.

You say you could not be more pleased with it. For me, I wouldn't mind if Scribe went out and built dozens of quality links back to each of my posts, fed me sushi while giving me a neck massage, and (what the heck) wrote the darn post in the first place. (Are you listening, Brian?)

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either. Guess I had my sets set kinda low. :-)

It is a great tool, the best new tool for a long time. At the end of the video you say 300 evaluations per year for $27 per month and it goes up to $97 per month for 300 evaluations per year, but that's actually 300 evaluations per month. Just thought I'd clarify!

I like 300 per month much better. Glad to be wrong about that!

Thanks for this review. This is the second one I've read, and I'm really thinking of trying it out. Also glad to see that you included your thoughts on the program's drawbacks.

If a review isn't honest, there's no reason to trust it. I always give the bad along with the good in reviews.

There was the deadline of the introductory offer coming to an end. That resulted in a flurry of posts about it.

    Michael,

Thanks for the excellent video tutorial of SEO Scribe. You really showed what this seo tool does for it's users.

The funny thing is I've been writing for so long I kind of already have all of this “programed” ” in my head as I write.

I think this could be an excellent tool for some folks. Especially SEO “newbies”

Wicked cool SEO tool there Mike…I just wish I had of learned about during the intro pricing, but I am still going to have to get that plugin!

      30 analyses a month for $27 isn't bad, that's less than a dollar a pop. Go
      for it!

I'm a Realtor and use an Agent Press theme (from Studio Press) for real estate and it has a built in SEO like the All-in-One pack….Scribe doesn't support that theme yet, but is there any chance of them doing so in the future? I would have to copy and paste over 200 pages and posts of meta into the AIO Pack in order for scribe to work for me?

It would seem so. :-( Contact Brian & the folks at Scribe and the maker of
your theme and see if they can't work out the compatibility issues.

Well I searched for “Scribe SEO Review” and on those words you are #1. Very impressive. And also a very helpful article. Too bad I'm seeing it after the special price has passed. Oh well.

Yes, it's been climbing since I wrote the post. :-)

For the $27 a month price point, you can still get 30 analyses a month. If
you use them judiciously, you can still make Scribe SEO very much worth your
      time & money to use.

I agree Scribe SEO is a good tool. However, starting SEOs may actually have a hard time understanding how to use it. Maybe, I'll recommend to the developers to make it more user-friendly.
