There's a lot of overlap and related topics between search and marketing for sure. The larger, well-known conferences are almost always worthwhile because of the networking. I don't even hardly attend the sessions when I go to conferences. All the action's in the hallways and the parties afterwards.

Not all marketing conferences are created equal and from a content perspective, some are much better than others. Last month I attended SMX Social in Long Beach, California; and the content seemed to be more aligned with SEO than Social Media. Nonetheless, there were plenty of really good takeaways from the conference, but the true value for me was networking and meeting others who work in the same space as I do.

I second the opinion of James. I really liked the content here, and it got me some ideas....or rather confirmed some strategies for my birdwatching business that I have been considering. The media is interesting, and to think you can actually call in a message like this is quite cool. However, as James points out, it can become a little too long and repetitive.
Do you know any good sound editing on-line services, that can be used for this stuff? I use Adobe Audition (former Cool edit) to edit bird recordings, but the program is expensive and not very intuitive for someone who just wants to cut out the "ehs" and reduntant sentences.

Everyone is talking about Twitter and it is very interesting how it can help generate traffic to blogs and of course blogging will be the main money making technique.
