Blogging and Internet Marketing – A Powerful Combo

This is an audio I recorded yesterday, but only just now have had the chance to post!  Grant and I are only days away from opening the doors to Blawging Lawyers and things are a little crazy.

This is really the story of how Grant and I met on Twitter and began a fruitful partnership. In telling you this story, you’ll have a chance to see how a lot of this blogging and internet marketing stuff is related and interwoven into our business activities.

Have a listen:

Very interesting idea and, as always, some great content.

Mixing audio into the mix, especially if you speak well, adds some nice diversity to your blog.

The risk you run is our natural tendency to over explain when we are speaking. Editing an audio post will be as important as editing a written post, perhaps more so.

    Cool audio.
Everyone is talking about Twitter and it is very interesting how it can help generate traffic to blogs and of course blogging will be the main money making technique.

I second the opinion of James. I really liked the content here, and it got me some ideas….or rather confirmed some strategies for my birdwatching business that I have been considering. The media is interesting, and to think you can actually call in a message like this is quite cool. However, as James points out, it can become a little too long and repetitive.
Do you know any good sound editing on-line services, that can be used for this stuff? I use Adobe Audition (former Cool edit) to edit bird recordings, but the program is expensive and not very intuitive for someone who just wants to cut out the “ehs” and reduntant sentences.

Not all marketing conferences are created equal and from a content perspective, some are much better than others. Last month I attended SMX Social in Long Beach, California; and the content seemed to be more aligned with SEO than Social Media. Nonetheless, there were plenty of really good takeaways from the conference, but the true value for me was networking and meeting others who work in the same space as I do.

There's a lot of overlap and related topics between search and marketing for sure. The larger, well-known conferences are almost always worthwhile because of the networking. I don't even hardly attend the sessions when I go to conferences. All the action's in the hallways and the parties afterwards.
