Hi Michael – This is GREAT! Dashboard upgrade/access succinctly demonstrated and terrific summary of plug-in capabilities! Awesome, thank you so much. I’m motivated to play this weekend.

OMG! I had this on my to-do list for today… I’m so glad I found this post! After once dealing with the installation of one particularly difficult plugin that made my site not work, I kind of have a phobia about adding new plugins.

I also need to upgrade to 2.7 as you suggest in your book… but I’m even more terrified to do that! Are there any problems that you know of with upgrading?

@Christine – If you’re going to do it yourself, here’s what you need to know: back up files and database. Upgrade your plugins BEFORE you upgrade WordPress. I used the WordPress automatic upgrade plugin to do the upgrade to 2.7 and it went without a hitch. Some people can’t log in after doing an upgrade. If that happens, clear your browser cookies from your blog and try it again, should be fine.

Good luck! If you just want someone to do it for you, let me know.
