What are Your Holiday Blog Plans?

The Christmas and New Year’s holidays are nearly upon us. Many people will not be working during these days (and even the self-employed may take a breather).

What are your blogging plans for the holidays? Leave a comment and let me know!

I may plan a special event during the holidays for little blogging elves!

I wanted to have a poll but the formatting looked like crap so I removed it. We’ll do it “manually”. Besides, comments are more fun to read! Just for fun, though, here’s a bit of an American television holiday classic for you to enjoy.

I’m not going anywhere this Christmas.
I will just rest at home after working hard all year. I will hope to work on my blog alot more since I will be off work :)

Actually I plan to use the free time for writing some blog posts. But I am asking myself if I should time them for January when everybody is getting back to work, or to post them just when written (could be people have more time to read in the holidays?).

All blogs are queued through January 1. Taking the time to launch a new project, rest a little, and edit a novel. Took some work to get it done, but worth it.

Holidays are for family primarily, so I’m enjoying the holidays with family/friends and relaxing during my time off work.

In between family functions I’m writing new posts for after New Year’s. And a bit of Twitter from time to time.

I expect web traffic to drop a bit while everyone is enjoying the holidays, and while it may be true that there is always someone looking for information or products I may be able to direct them to, family comes first.

Even though I know that readership will probably be down for the next few days, I’ll continuing blogging as usual, though I probably won’t write anything too substantial.

Darn that BJ! I am going to “take off” from Dec 24-28. I will be working on an ebook that I have been dinking around on for months!

    Michael,

I’ll be working on a TOP SECRET ;-) video tutorial for non-profits.

Beyond that, I’ll do some cross country skiing in order to brainstorm MORE 2009 blog plans.

    Stay warm up there!,

    John

I plan to blog as usual (M-F), though I may take December 25 off. I’m not traveling this holiday season, so I want to stick with my blogging routine.

I try to blog at least once every 3-4 days – my girlfriend has already forbidden me to blog on Christmas day but we’ll see :-)

    Michael,

I took off a week for the first time at Thanksgiving, and I felt totally out of sorts when I got back into it. So I’ll probably keep to my usual T-W-F-Sa posting over the holidays, though I have a good feeling that readership will be light. It’s more for my own sake, to keep my routine comfortable.

Hope you didn’t get too deeply buried with the last storm!

    Regards,

    Kelly

I’m running a christmas giveaway on my blog to boost my traffic and I’ll be spending the next two weeks tweaking my design and optimizing all of my sites for the new year.

Since I’m still working a full-time job I’ll be at work on Christmas Eve. Off for Christmas Day, Friday and Saturday. The Wife and I are going out of town on Friday.

I’ve got two domains registered for Blogs and I’m doing research for a book. I’ll continue my buying and selling of vintage items in the New Year also.

My blogging over holiday periods has been sketchy. I tend to get busy with preparing for whichever holiday and usually exhaust myself. I did manage to post a new blog entry today and added a page to my blog about my wiki. I hope to do some catch-up writing tomorrow and Sunday and then get back on track.

Thanks for sharing the Peanuts clip! It brought back a happy childhood memory and made me smile. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

My original plan was to do some more link development for my blog, however, we have changed to a new host and now got our very own domain. I think this is an achievement so far. :)
