How to Get Started Blogging: Crash Course in 2.5 Hours

Free video streaming by Ustream
If you can’t see the video, watch it on the blog

Last night I spent over 2 hours dropping knowledge on blogging for a live audience. How? Ustream. Ustream is for live broadcasting over the web. You can record your broadcast for later, as you can see above.

We covered a lot of ground in this time, enough for me to call it a crash course in blogging. This webinar was a thank-you to those of you who donated to help me get back on my feet and into new wheels after my accident. Nobody had to donate to watch it and now you can watch it any time you want.

Which is good, because it’s over 2 hours long! You may want to skip a few minutes at the beginning while it gets going. The feedback about the blogging webinar was really good, so I’m sure you’ll get something good out of it (hopefully, a lot of somethings).

Oh, and at the end, I talk about what’s going to be in SEO-Nomicon, which will be available very soon!

OK. I’m old. But most of the time I think young.

One of the reasons I visit every day, take your newsletter and recommend you, Michael, is becuase you write as if English was your first lanaguage and you act as if you’re older than 16. Please …
“… Which is good, cuz it’s like over 2 hours long!…”

Is it over two hours long or is it shorter than two hours and it seems as if it’s two hours long? Thanks for the effort but no way will I watch two hours of video nor send someone else to watch such an epic.

Best wishes for your recovery and for your holidays, Michael, but if you have two hours of useful info on blogging (which I am sure you do), break it into 10 segments or so … 20 or 30 minutes is more than long enough, my freind.

Hey, I just came across your blog and I really enjoyed it. I don’t have the time to watch your video, but I’m bookmarking it so I view it tomorrow! Keep up the great work!

@Dave – I found your comment in my spam filter and approved it just now. I didn’t want you to think I had suppressed it because of a little criticism–that wasn’t the case.

Your point is well-taken about the tone and the video. I learned later that as you’re recording a live session in Ustream, you can stop and start recording to break it up. That would mean multiple embedded players, but still, at least there’s a way. :) Thank you for your comment.

Seems to be something wrong with Ustream at the moment. Keep checking back in it should be fine soon (I hope).

This was an excellent video. LONG, but worth it.

I decided that I needed to write a post about it, do you mind. A trackback coming your way.

I wonder what’s in SEO Nomicon? What more can you tell us? There was a lot covered in this webinar.

@Jim – You’re welcome to embed the video and link to it, of course. I encourage it. The more people it reaches and helps, the better.

One thing about SEO-Nomicon I can say that I don’t recall mentioning in the webinar is that there are three video files that show you step-by-step how to set up the All-in-One SEO Pack plugin, how to change permalinks, and how to SEO a post step-by-step.

Sounds like SEO-Nomicon is going to great.

I have already signed up for the affiliate program and plan on a decent post, once I get some time…
