Learning internet marketing isn’t easy, nor is it cheap… or is it? You can learn from big-name internet marketers without spending a thing.

    @Bloggeries – Somewhat true, but finding it can be a bitch and how do you know if you can trust it? It’s like trying to put together a puzzle over a long time and getting the pieces every couple days.

    There is quite a bit you will not find out on the web. Many of these marketers keep a tight reign over their materials with end-user terms of service legal agreements and with the usual intellectual property laws in the U.S.

    However, they give away enough good free information for one very good reason: they want you to make enough money using their techniques. When you’re ready to buy the big program, you already trust them because they helped you already. Now you trust them with your money to take you the rest of the way.

    @Mike That’s somewhat true. Look at SEO as an example if you can get anything you want to the top why would you work for others? Why wouldn’t you just spend your time replicating your steps and getting the end payouts instead of teaching others?

    Re first comment I meant more like what you just provided and others doing similar things can give you a good understanding without having to pay someone.

    Anytime I’ve ever paid for something I’ve later found it online free somewhere else; just worded and packaged different.

    @Bloggeries – Well, long story short getting something to the top of the SERPs is only the beginning. Specialization allows people to sell highly competitive services at a premium.

    It’s not about working for others, though, it’s about selling your process and knowledge to others. That’s a revenue multiplier: not only do you make money doing what you do, you make money showing other people how you do what you do.

    I think we’re both talking around the same thing, just using different words. :)
