Best of Remarkablogger for September 2008

fallfoliage

The leaves on the trees in Vermont are turning. I love fall–it is by far my favorite season. There’s a poignant bittersweet feeling I have as I breathe in the clean, crisp air and take in the brilliant New England fall foliage. The rustling sound of leaves blowing about is comforting to me. The occasional incense of wood smoke from a nearby stove brings back a thousand memories. Mist laces through the valleys of the Green Mountains.

This September, especially, I look back in fondness over what I’ve done here on Remarkablogger. This was a very important month. Big stuff went down. New things came up.

Opportunities for Other Bloggers

A personal mission for myself is to provide opportunities for others. For you. When opportunities are created for others, the world moves.

New Services and Products to Help You

Change was in the air during September. I realized that I was helping too few people at a price tag most people had a hard time affording. Not only that, but I had an epiphany: I do my best work when I’m talking with someone in a live situation.

Personal Growth and Transformation

This was kind of a big deal, because I underwent a personal awakening and experienced some heavy-duty realizations, which inspired me to create a week-long series of posts called the Remarkablogger Manifesto:

  1. What Do You Believe In?
  2. What Do You Stand For?
  3. What is Non-Negotiable?
  4. Why Do You Blog?
  5. What Will Your Legacy Be?

New Editorial Calendar and Laser Focus on Helpful Content

A big part for the reason why this was a September to remember was my re-dedication to long-range planning, and that meant a return to (and improvement upon) my blogging editorial calendar. My multimedia posts were sporadic at best previously, but now there is an audio post every Thursday and a video post every Friday.

October is Near…

Soon our thoughts will turn to getting costumes for the kids (and ourselves), winterizing the house, and whether we should really get that new fall jacket we’ve had our eye on (of course we should).

I’ve got a bountiful harvest of good blog content and events queued up in the cornucopia, ready to go. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for October (and even a little sooner):

  • A week’s worth of guest posts, all on the same theme.
  • Not one, but two new group coaching events: one for growing blog traffic, and one for increasing subscribers. These will be for way more than just 12 people, and they will not be as much of an investment as the SEO seminar is.
  • Tons of great new audio posts. In some of them, you will get to listen in on portions of actual blog consulting & coaching calls.
  • New videos that are shorter and more to the point.
  • I’ll be starting an email list… that won’t be like anybody else’s!

I’m really looking forward to what’s in store for you in October! Subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss a thing!

P.S. If you’re reading this in your email or RSS reader, forward this or share it with someone else!

  • Errr... colors are CHANGING. More coffee needed. :)
  • What a gorgeous photo. Colors are hanging here in Minnesota, too. Remember when it was okay to burn leaves? The smoky fragrance!

Thanks for the meaty content - it is so helpful and appreciated! When you lay it all out there, it's a significant bounty.
  • I live in northern Colorado, just east of the Rockies and a little north of Denver. There are trees, but not vast forests like in the East. It is beautiful here. But I do find myself singing "Oh Shenandoah" every now and then.
  • I really love the non-negotiable post few weeks ago.. Great read
  • @Sid - Thanks, a little extra effort into multimedia goes a long way for sure.

@Sonia - I'm looking forward to it, too. If there's ever anything you'd like to see here, please let me know.

@Easton - Where are you living now? Hopefully they have trees there! :) But I know, nothing's the same as "back home". :)
  • "The leaves on the trees in Vermont are turning." Dude, stop it. You're making me miss Virginia. :)

Keep churning out the hits my friend.
  • Whew! Fabulous month, with more to come. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us.
  • Looking forward to the month ahead - the audio and video posts definitely make Remarkablogger stand out from other blogs i read.
  • @Writer Dad - I'm sure it will be no one you know. ;)
  • The week of guest posts sounds great. Can't wait.
