I imagine making a business out of a blog would be a little more difficult than using a blog to promote an existing business. Luckily, I am in the latter situation, and it is working quite nicely.

Sounds like the hedge fund of blogging. :)

@Robert – it is more difficult, absolutely. But it can be done, and people are hungry for it. I did it myself, so I can speak from experience on this (funny, it didn’t occur to me to mention that in the post–oh, well).

@Janice – That’s an interesting comparison. I have to confess I’m not sure I see how they relate. Care to explain further?

“I got you covered from either side.”

It was a quick read on your application working from both ends. An intuitive one. But it sounds like you are creating bridges and ways to diversify efforts while attaining a central goal. Of course I haven’t had any coffee this am. :)

I’m trying both, actually. My dad hired me to set up a blog to help support his business, and I’m managing my own for my business. Life works out. ;-)

I feel using a blog for your existing business would make more money than making a business out of a blog.By setting up a blog on your business would been a right thing.Great blog with good information.
