Jason Falls of Social Media Explorer posted an interview with Liz Strauss of Successful Blog. Liz is the main organizer behind SOBcon, happening this May in Chicago. I’ll be going, and if you can swing it, I think it would be a tremendous benefit to anyone.
Here are some of the highlights:
- It’s small: only 250 people! (there is still room)
- The focus is on the business model for your blog–you KNOW how important that is to me, but it’s also very important to Liz–she and I both see a real need for education in this
- There’s going to be some big names there, like Brian Clark of Copyblogger, Chris Garrett of ChrisG.com, Chris Brogan, Liz herself (natch!) and many more
- It’s one of the most highly regarded blogging conferences you could attend
- Everybody knows conferences are great for networking, but this one looks very solid in the presentation department, too
Even if you’ve never been to a blogging conference before, you should seriously consider going. Between the conference fees, the air fare, and the hotel, I know it’s going to be expensive, but I also know that SOBcon will provide me with the education and the connections with other people I need to help me take things to the next level. Eventually, I’ll probably make that money back several times over from what I gain from this event.
Let me repeat: This conference is aimed at helping you make a successful business out of your blog. This is “Business School for Bloggers.” How cool is that?
So do go check it out and register today! And then hurry up and get your plane tickets and hotel reservations, too!
