7th Key: Personal Productivity – 7 Keys to Better Blogging in 7 Days

goldkey.jpegThe 7th and final key to better blogging is Personal Productivity. Better bloggers are disciplined life hackers, and they’re always looking for an edge in getting their work done more efficiently and productively.

Blogging Success Can Lead to Life Success

Achieving personal productivity in blogging can lead to greater productivity and success in life. By focusing on one thing, blogging, and achieving success with it, you can apply your actions to other areas of your life. For example, reaching for what I want with blogging and getting it has made it easier for me to set goals and reach them in other areas of my life, such as with work, health, and relationship networking.

Benefits of Focusing on Personal Productivity

  • Less stress
  • Less likely to fall behind in your tasks
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Increased trust and respect from others
  • Increased rate of accomplishment

What You Can Do Now

Even if you never thought of yourself as productive or organized, there are some simple steps you can take as a starting point. An important note to remember is to do only what you know you’re capable of doing. Set realistically achievable goals for yourself, not impossible ones. Here are some immediate steps you can take:

  • Create a regular routine and stick to it.
Notice I didn’t say “post regularly to your blog,” but if you do, you can build the rest of your regular blogging routine around that. I do the same things in the same order every day, with a bit more added to the routine on the weekends when I have more free time.
  • Concentrate on your high ROTI activities.
ROTI stands for return on time invested. Think of it as bang for the buck. What would be a better use of your time: fiddling with widgets in your sidebar, or writing a killer post that’s going get links and comments? If your goal is to make money blogging, you can view your ROTI in terms of tasks that are more likely to earn you more money. Checking your feeds for the hundredth time today is not a high-ROTI activity!
  • Adopt a system for listing and managing tasks and ideas.
Many people fail at this because they never find the “right” system. The most important thing I can tell you about this is: don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. My two main systems are a good ol’ paper notebook combined with online task management tools. If there were one more part of this I still need, I think it would be an electronic voice recorder for when I’m driving.

Your Feedback is Desired

Most blogger don’t have enough sleep. I don’t consider myself professional blogger but I do a lot of blogging. Just like you said, productivity is important. I do apply what you said above. David Allen and Eat That Frog method work best for me when and using special plugin outlook software together
    My top 3 productivity tips:

    1. put all to do list in paper/software.
    2. work on units, 30-45 minute for one tasks.
    3. put break time into schedule.

    Well, that’s my sharing.
