How to Use Blogspot Image Hosting for Your Blogger Template Images

UPDATE: This technique isn’t as necessary, anymore, since the advent of the new Blogger system.

This is quite easy to do but the results are terrific: a unique template amidst a sea of Minima.

1. Your image should be optimized and ready to go.
2. Create a post for your Blogger blog and click the upload image button.
3. Browse your computer’s filesystem for the image, select it, and upload it.
4. find the link source of the image. The code will be for a thumbnail that when clicked displays the full picture–you just want the “http://photo1.blogger...” link to the full-sized image.
5. Copy that link code.
6. Paste the image URL into your Blogger template code where you need it to go, either in an img tag or as a background property in your template’s CSS.

Now you have blogspot-hosted images in your Blogger/blogspot-hosted blog template, not just in posts! As you can tell, to do this sort of thing requires knowledge of three things: XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and Blogger Template Tags.
